There are two primary types of SCBA, open circuit and closed circuit.

BENEFITS & FEATURES. The T-ISS EEBD is intended to be used to escape from a machinery space and be carried by fire fighters to give personnel in need of assistance. An EEBD is not intended to be used for fire- fighting purposes or entering oxygen-deficit or toxic environments, for firefighters use our SCBA.

SCBA is Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, which is used for Firefighting and Enclosed space rescue, it is manufactured as per the standard guidelines laid down by the organization which you can find in Solas and FSS code. EEBD is approved only for the evacuation purpose from hazardous area.

These EEBDs are also called closed-circuit self-contained breathing apparatus (C-C SCBA).

As further explained in this directive, a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) is not considered an escape-only respirator. If you provide employees with a SCBA, which can be used to enter atmospheres considered immediately dangerous to life and health, a medical evaluation would be required.

Hydrostatic pressure testing of EEBD cylinders shall be undertaken at least once every five years, or in ance with the manufacturer's instructions if such testing is required on a more frequent basis. The test pressure and test date shall be clearly and permanently marked on the cylinder.

The M-20 is a belt-wearable Self Contained Self Rescuer (SCSR) that is field-proven for use in mines, tunnels, and confined spaces. The simple and easy donning allows the user to obtain respiratory protection in less than ten seconds.

Even more efficient than an air purifying respirator, this self-contained self-rescuer provides protection against oxygen deficiency (presence of asphyxiating gas or fumes) and toxic gases (values exceeding air purifying potential) and particles.
