On July 1st, 2022 the asset test to qualify for a Medicare Savings Program increased. The new limit is $130,000 for one person and an additional $65,000 for each additional family member.

To qualify for the giveback, you must: Be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. Pay your own premiums (if a state or local program is covering your premiums, you're not eligible). Live in a service area of a plan that offers a Part B giveback.

Have countable monthly income* at or below 100% of the federal poverty level (FPL) after certain credits are applied. If there is one person in your family, the monthly income limit is $1,215.00. If there are two people in your family, the monthly income limit is $1,643.33.

To qualify for the giveback, you must: Be enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B. Pay your own premiums (if a state or local program is covering your premiums, you're not eligible). Live in a service area of a plan that offers a Part B giveback.

There are four parts of Medicare: Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D. Part A provides inpatient/hospital coverage. Part B provides outpatient/medical coverage. Part C offers an alternate way to receive your Medicare benefits (see below for more information). Part D provides prescription drug coverage.

QMB also pays your Medicare co-payments and deductibles. To be eligible your income must be no more than: $1,215 per month for one person, or. $1,644 per month for a couple.

To qualify for QMB, your monthly income cannot exceed $1,215 if you are single ($14,580/year) or $1,643 ($19,720/year) if you are part of a couple. Note: A $20 “disregard” is subtracted from your monthly income (earned or unearned).
