(a) The COR's role is to develop proper requirements and ensure during contract administration the contractors meet the commitments of their contracts, including the timeliness and delivery of quality goods and services as required by the contract.

Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) The Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer's Representatives (FAC-COR) program is for acquisition professionals in the Federal Government performing contract management activities and functions.

CMS COR. The CMS COR is the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). This person is responsible for contract actions and works directly with the Contracting Officer.

What are the requirements? Two years of previous COR experience is required. Experience must be documented and submitted with the application. Level III CORs are the most expereinced CORs within an agency and should be assigned to the most complex, critical risk, and mission critical contracts within the agency.

1.604 Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).

Definition. A Government employee formally designated to act as an authorized representative of a contracting officer for specified functions that do not include actions that could change the scope, price, terms or conditions of a contract (e.g., technical monitoring).

A contracting officer's representative (COR) assists in the technical monitoring or administration of a contract (see 1.602-2(d)). The COR shall maintain a file for each assigned contract.
