What should a Legacy Binder include? Passwords. Financial information. Household information. Digital assets. Legal documents. List of personal effects. Important contacts. Final arrangements.

A "legacy" product may be a product that is no longer sold, has lost substantial market share, or is a version of a product that is not current. A legacy product may have some advantage over a modern product making it appealing for customers to keep it around.

A legacy drawer is a place in your home (often times a drawer or filing cabinet) that contains important documents your family would need to access in the event you pass away or become incapacitated.

Legacy data refers to information that is stored in outdated or obsolete systems, formats, or technologies that is often difficult to access. This data was created years ago and may not be actively used by an organization anymore. However, it is often crucial for legal, regulatory / compliance, or historical reasons.

This includes existing databases, often relational, although non-RDBs such as hierarchical, network, object, XML, object/relational databases, and NoSQL databases. Files, such as XML documents or “flat files” such as configuration files and comma-delimited text files, are also common sources of legacy data.

Legacy Data Code consists of an 11 digit number in the format -x-x and contains all the information about any person whose name appears in the Legacy Data. Wherever a match with the name of the ancestor is found, a Legacy Data Slip shall be printed and issued to the applicant.

Legacy paper records are 'old' files or collections of papers, created under filing schemes that are no longer used, or with no apparent organisation. They can be cupboards or rooms full of files or papers and in many cases you may have little knowledge of their contents and importance.

Your legacy drawer should include everything from your financial life, your medical wishes, plans for your funeral, even all those passwords you've got memorized but no one else knows. And while you're setting up your legacy drawer, go ahead and set up a safe deposit box too for storing original documents.
