Note: The CC Form 139-R is NOT a Contract that obligates the Cadet to a career in the Army. It is the proper registration information that is required for the Cadet to be "loaded" into the ROTC Cadet Command system. This way the Cadet is covered if they get hurt during Labs or other ROTC-Related Training.

The ROTC offers college scholarships for students who commit to serve in the military. An ROTC scholarship will cover most of your college expenses in return for your participation in military training while in college and service after you graduate.

You are not given a specific amount of money towards college. You are instead, required to serve in the military for a certain amount of time. ROTC scholarships cover the cost of college. Upon graduation, you will have a full time job in the service of your country.

A: Upon contracting into the ROTC program (after MIL 301 or any ROTC tuition scholarships), it is an 8-year commitment on Active Duty or Reserve Component (National Guard or Reserves).
