1000 Gauge - is recommended as a damp proof membrane. 1200 Gauge - is more durable and recommended for use as a gas control membrane. 2000 Gauge - is a superior quality membrane for use in methane hazard areas.

Podiatrists are defined as physicians by the federal government. A DPM is a specialist in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of lower extremity disorders, diseases and injuries.

Medical Doctors (MDs) Have a Broader, Less Focused Education With over 26 bones, 33 joints (20 of which are actively articulated), and more than a hundred muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the human foot alone, podiatrists have a much better idea of what might be wrong with their patients with foot and ankle problems.

Podiatrists are required to earn a doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) degree. This four-year medical degree is offered at one of nine accredited colleges of podiatric medicine across the US. Upon completing their degree, DPMs must complete a three-year residency to complete their training and education.

A 250-micron sheet is considered a "HEAVY DUTY polythene and ideal for heavy-duty applications such as a damp proof membrane, for mixing cement, temporary roof covering, temporary window repairs, industrial protection, weather protection and for heavier duty wrapping for storage and transit.

The height at which the DPC is installed would normally be a minimum of 150mm above the external ground level. The DPM should then be folded up the inside wall and lap over onto the DPC thereby forming a continuous water barrier.

DPC must be at least 150mm above the level of the adjoining ground if it is in an external wall. It must also be continuous with any damp-proof membrane in the floor (i.e. no gaps!)

The DPM thickness is the recommended 300μm and 1200 gauge - this means it effectively prevents moisture from passing from the ground into the property. This provides long term protection to the upper surface of the floor from damage. You should always consider a DPM before installing any flooring.

The only discernible difference between them is that an orthopedist manages parts of the foot and ankle that pertain to the bones, soft tissues and joints, while a podiatrist manages the same areas, but also the biomechanics and dermatology of the foot and ankle.

The use of damp proof membrane in construction is regulated by British Standards, which state that the sheet should be at least 1200 gauge (or 300 micrometres). Using a thinner sheet could mean your building doesn't comply with regulations, and it can be a costly fix, so 1200 is always recommended.
