Rule 59. New trials and rearguments: Page 12 12 (b) Time and procedure for motion. -- The motion for a new trial shall be served and filed not later than 10 15 days after the entry of judgment. The motion shall briefly and distinctly state the grounds therefor.

A subpoena may be served by the sheriff, by the sheriff's deputy or by any other person who is not a party and is not less than 18 years of age. Service of a subpoena upon a person named therein shall be made by delivering a copy thereof to such person.

A party who moves for a directed verdict at the close of the evidence offered by an opponent may offer evidence in the event that the motion is not granted, without having reserved the right so to do and to the same extent as if the motion had not been made.

Rule 59 - New Trials and Rearguments (a) Grounds. A new trial may be granted to all or any of the parties and on all or part of the issues in an action in which there has been a trial for any of the reasons for which new trials have heretofore been granted in this Court.

Importantly, any type of company in Delaware can be held liable for civil violations. For instance, a for-profit company, such as a corporation, limited liability corporation (“LLC”), or partnership that violates a civil statute and injures another party may be held liable for such violations.

You can ask for up to $25,000 in a small claims action in the Delaware Justice of the Peace Court. Plaintiffs with claims exceeding the limit can use small claims court if they're willing to accept the $25,000 cap. Otherwise, they must file in a higher court. Example.

As far as the minimum amount you can actually sue someone for, there is no limit. Legally, you can sue someone for any amount in court. The only criteria which has to be met, is that there is a valid cause of action. This refers to issues such as an unpaid debt.

Small claims basics Generally, you can only sue for up to $12,500 in small claims court (or up to $6,250 if you're a business). You can ask a lawyer for advice before you go to court, but you can't have one with you in court. Starting November 1, 2021, you can sue or be sued for COVID-19 rental debt in small claims.
