Use Document Markup Using the Document Markup feature, recipients can make changes to a document. Recipients can use the markup tool to: White out, or cover up, document text to show deletions. Cover up text ,and add new text over the old text.

Add a Checkbox Field Start an envelope or template as usual, adding files, recipients, and messages. In the Add Fields view, add a Checkbox field to your document. Click the "+" symbol to add additional checkboxes to the group. If you need to delete one of the checkboxes, just select it and then press Delete.

Edit your Template or the next envelope you create, go to the Checkbox Group and click on one to highlight then go to the right properties panel and look for validation and set it to something that would make the set of checkboxes required such as “Select at Least” “1” or other various options.

You can set additional properties in the properties panel, such as formatting and whether or not the field is required. The Drop Down field can be required or optional. If you set the Required Field property, your recipient must select one of the options to complete the document.

Mark the Checkbox as Required In the checkbox field properties menu, locate the "Required" option and select "Yes." This will designate the checkbox as a mandatory field that signers must check before they can complete the signing process.

When you add a text field in your document it's possible to configure if it is required or not. Select the Text field in your document then a Properties panel on the right will show up, select the option Required (that is the default set). So, your signer is required to fill out that field.
