The state of Hawaii has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Department of Energy to collaborate to produce 70% of the state's energy needs from energy-efficient and renewable sources by 2030 and 100% of the state's energy needs from energy-efficient and renewable sources by 2045.

§831-3.2, Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS), authorizes the expungement of non-conviction arrest information. Arrest records will be expunged from the arresting agency and the statewide central repository of adult criminal history record information.

Expungement of an arrest record is handled by the Department of the Attorney General through the Hawaiʻi Criminal Justice Data Center. Act 241 states, “The purpose of this Act is to expand eligibility for, and automate, the expungement of conviction records if certain criteria are met, including the lack of a conviction record for a specified time period following the date of conviction.”

In Hawaii, the expungement of criminal records is available for some offenses, such as: Felony and misdemeanor that did not result in a conviction. Convictions for first time drug-related crimes as seen in §706–622.5. Convictions for a DUI of persons under the age of 21, ing to §291E–0064(e).

In Hawaii, a DUI conviction will remain on your criminal record and driving record for 5 years. The five-year period starts on the date of the sentence, rather than the date of the incident. Additionally, Hawaii does have a look-back period for DUI convictions.

Do I have to pay to seal my criminal record? If you apply through the Minnesota Attorney General's Office and you qualify for expungement you do not have to pay the $300 filing fee to the Court.

An expungement can take up to 120 days (approximately 4 months). You will receive a certificate when the expungement is completed. Until that time, the qualifying arrests will remain on your criminal record. The certificate will state which arrests have been expunged from your criminal record.
