Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR) 1873 requires anyone who is not an "indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland" to obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) in a form and with conditions prescribed by the Government of Nagaland to enter the state for a limited period.

In order to get Arunachal Pradesh ILP offline, you need to visit a Deputy commissioner's office in a city or consult an ILP facilitation center at the entry points. Another option is going through a travel agent.

Depending on the category of the ILP one has applied, and the number of applicants at any point of time, it may take hours or 2 to 3 working days to issue the ILP by the competent authority. As regards the online ILP for Tourist, if applied during working hours it may get approved within 4 (four) hours.

Issuance of eILP for approval and Verification will take minutes of 1(One) hours and maximum of 5 Office Working Day by the respective Processing Office.

Validity of ILP The temporary ILP is valid for 15 days and can be extended. The regular ILP is valid for 6 months and it can be renewed twice for another 6 months. However, sponsorship from a resident or a Government Department is required.

Even Indian Citizens who are not residence of those areas require an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter these places. The Inner Line Permit (ILP) is significantly easier to get. However, NRIs (Indian who are staying abroad for more than 6 months), PIO Card holders, and OCI holders are not eligible for Inner Line Permit.

Inner Line Permit (ILP): For Indian other than native of Arunachal Pradesh, ILP is required for entering into any part of Arunachal Pradesh, ILP is issued by the designated authories of Arunachal Pradesh Government.
