In a checkbox group, a user can select more than one option. Each checkbox operates individually, so a user can toggle each response "on" and "off." Radio buttons, however, operate as a group and provide mutually exclusive selection values. A user can select only one option in a radio button group.

The <input type="radio"> defines a radio button. Radio buttons are normally presented in radio groups (a collection of radio buttons describing a set of related options). Only one radio button in a group can be selected at the same time.

There should not be an input element without a form element. You are not going to get the HTML to respond the way you want it to if you do not use it correctly. Multiple submit buttons would indicate the need for multiple forms.

Begin by creating an input element to serve as the basic foundation. Set the type to radio. Give each radio button a unique id. Use the name attribute to identify all the buttons in a group. Consider visual grouping as well.
