Focus stacking uses a set of images of the same scene and stacks them on top of each other. This process is used to keep the in-focus regions of each individual image to create a more overall in-focus image.

There is no hard and fast rule for the number of images required for the process but typically a batch of around 20 images is ideal, though any number over five will yield noticeable improvements.

Stacking is an ensemble learning technique that uses predictions for multiple nodes(for example kNN, decision trees, or SVM) to build a new model. This final model is used for making predictions on the test dataset.

In order to compensate for this noise problem, photographers will sometimes take multiple pictures of the same object in quick succession and then process all the images for the object to create a final, noise-free image. This process is called image stacking.

Usually three different types of image are required for the stacking process: Light frames, Dark frames and Flat frames. The images containing the astronomical motive are called Light frames. Dark frames are images obtained by taking images with a closed lens cap.

Create a stack from a sequence of images Choose File > Import > Image Sequence... and navigate to the Albedo folder. Select the first image in the sequence and then click the Open button. Specify the Sequence Options. Use all twelve slices, beginning with the first slice and incrementing by one. Do not scale the images.
