No signature required (NSR) FedEx may release the package without anyone present and provide a photo of the final delivery when it's left at the door.

Request a signature Most of the time, you don't have to sign for receipt. But if you're shipping or ordering high-value items, it's best to require a signature for your package to be released. This will prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

If you know a FedEx package is coming that requires a signature, you can usually just leave a note for the delivery driver given permission to leave the package. The note must reference the tracking number, delivery address, and name and signature of the person signing. Your cell phone number is also a good idea.

Sign the back of the form on your door tag (if eligible). If you are given the option to fill out a form and leave your signature on the door tag, then you can follow the prompts on the form and sign. This will authorize next-business-day delivery. This is only eligible for indirect signatures.

A "Waiver of Signature" is initiated by the Sender and authorizes delivery of mail at the letter carrier's discretion (if area is secured and protected from weather) without obtaining the recipient's signature. Note: Waiver of Signature must be checked at time of mailing by the Sender. It cannot be amended in transit.

FedEx will obtain a signature from someone at the delivery address or from somebody nearby, such as a neighbor or building manager. The recipient has the option to authorize the shipment to be released without anyone present.

It can also be used by shippers to confirm their deliveries to their recipients for peace of mind. The signature release allows for the recipient to opt for the receipt of their shipment without the need for a signature, allowing our courier to leave the parcel at an agreed-upon area.
