What happens when two items are ?tied? in the sort order? For example, suppose we sort a list of words by their lengths. Which five letter word will appear first? The answer is that the python interpreter will sort the tied items in the same order they were in before the sorting.

E.g. L = [1, 0, 1.0] , sorted(L, reverse=True) ? [1, 1.0, 0] vs sorted(L)[::-1] ? [1.0, 1, 0] .

To "break a tie" is not a technical term, but simply means dealing with ties by taking some additional step to ensure unique rankings - often a step that is spurious or random in nature (such as tossing a coin to determine a football match, or ranking data by Id).

Sort() function to order a list in reverse order. it also takes reverse as a parameter to specify whether the list should be sorted in ascending (False) or descending (True) order. The default is reverse=False. To sort in reverse use reverse=True .
