You pay for your Dynamics 365 Business Central licenses on a named user per month basis, either subscribing to a Full User, a Device CAL (to connect a device, such as a handheld scanner) or a Team Member. Your monthly subscription is delivered via a NCE (New Commerce Experience) license.

Go to the Azure AD blade and select "Licenses." Next, select "All products" under manage and you'll see a listing of the licenses available within your tenant. Select the license you want to work with (for this example, I selected E3) and then select "Assign" from the top of the menu.

To assign a license to a group Select the name of the license plan you want to assign to the group. On the Product page, select Assign. On the Assign page, select Users and groups, and then search for and select the group you're assigning the license.

Business Central, on-premises offers two types of access licenses: Named Client Access Licenses (CALs), only available under the Perpetual Licensing model, and User Subscription Access Licenses (SALs), only available under the Subscription Licensing model.

To add users or update user information and license assignments in Business Central Sign in to Business Central using an administrator account. Choose the. icon, enter Users, and then choose the related link. Choose Update Users from Microsoft 365.
