Press and hold the "Shift" key, then press and hold the hyphen "-" key, located two keys to the left of "Backspace" on a PC or "Delete" on a Mac. This creates a solid, horizontal straight line.

To insert a straight line, hold down the Shift key. Either end point can be adjusted to be above or below the other point by dragging either point up or down. The point you aren't moving will remain anchored to its position. If you want both points to move, hold down the Ctrl key while you move one point or the other.

Insert the line break.Hit the key combination Shift + Enter to create a line break. You will now be able to add content in the line right after the break. Notice that the cursor will not situate itself in the blank space where the break is when you click on the space. This is the line break.
