Quality points are determined by multiplying the number of course credits by the numerical value of the assigned grade. For example, a three-credit course completed with a grade of B- would carry 8.1 quality points (three credits multiplied by a 2.7 numerical grade equals 8.1 quality points for that course).

P indicates Pass (A-, B and C will automatically be replaced by "P" when the Pass/No Pass option has been requested. A+ and A will be recorded as "A+" and "A", not "P"). NP indicates No Pass (D+, D, D-, and F will automatically be replaced by "NP" when the Pass/No Pass option has been requested).

'' If you pass, you receive credit for the course with no positive impact on your GPA. If you don't pass, then you don't receive credit and there's usually no negative impact on your GPA. It seems pretty cut and dry.

These codes mean the following: E = The course attempt is excluded from GPA (grade point average) calculation. A = The course attempt is included in GPA calculation. I = The course attempt is included in GPA and earned hours calculation.

So what does a W grade mean anyway? A ?W? grade on your transcript means that you withdrew from a course, meaning you dropped the class after the drop/add period. Any classes dropped before the semester's last drop/add date does not negatively affect your transcript or tuition.
