One possible cause of this error is that a self-signed certificate is installed on the server. Self-signed certificates aren't trusted by browsers because they are generated by your server, not by a CA. You can tell if a certificate is self-signed if a CA is not listed in the issuer field in our SSL Certificate tester.

Many times, this error occurs when the certificate installed on the email server isn't recognized by the Android device in question.

Scroll down and tap on "Profile." You will see a list of installed profiles and certificates. Find the one you want to delete and tap on it. Tap on "Remove Profile" or "Delete Profile."

Generate a new Certificate Signing Request (CSR). If you're still getting a certificate not trusted error, then you could have installed the certificate incorrectly.
