Redact Signature Deed For Free

If the file will be published to the Internet, signatures and property owner names might need to be redacted. Please refer to your Department's policy for redaction of personal and private information. That policy should take County, State, and Federal laws and policies into account.

Explanation. A scheme permitting digitally signed documents to be authenticated while at the same time invisibly deleting (redacting) information that should be kept confidential even after the document has been signed.

Open the PDF in Acrobat, and then do one of the following: Choose Tools > Redact. On the Edit menu, choose Redact Text & Images. Select the text or image in a PDF, right-click, and select Redact. Select the text or image in a PDF, and choose Redact in the floating context-menu.

While the author can edit the document freely, you need to ask the original signatory to remove their digital signature if you want to redact a signed PDF file or ask them to make the necessary redactions.

Navigate to Tools > Redact > Edit > Find Text & Redact to search and remove specific words. Here you can choose ?Single Word or Phrase,? ?Multiple Words or Phrase? or select ?Patterns'' (addresses, social security numbers, credit card numbers, etc.).

Once a PDF has been digitally signed, it is usually impossible to edit without compromising the signature. And it's precisely the purpose of an electronic signature not to be able to tamper with a signed document! However, in some cases, it is possible to amend the file in a way that keeps the original signature valid.
