Navigate to an Opportunity. Click New Quote. Verify that the layout is accurate and the predefined field values ('Account', 'Opportunity' 'Sales Rep', 'Primary', etc) have been set. Create the Quote and click Save.

The first listed currency within a currency pair is called the base, while the second currency that is the benchmark is called the quote. Currency pairs are meant to be compared against one another in order to understand how much of the quote currency is required to buy one unit of the base currency.

In a direct quote, the quote currency is the foreign currency, while in an indirect quote, the quote currency is the domestic currency. When somebody buys (goes long) a currency pair, they sell the counter currency; if they short a currency pair, they would buy the counter currency.

What Is a Quote? A quote is the last price at which an asset traded; it is the most recent price that a buyer and seller agreed upon and at which some amount of the asset was transacted.

In forex, the base currency represents how much of the quote currency is needed for you to get one unit of the base currency. For example, if you were looking at the CAD/USD currency pair, the Canadian dollar would be the base currency and the U.S. dollar would be the quote currency.

End users will see a Currency option in Setup Personal Information which they may Edit and set to determine the currency for converted amounts. Switching that default will change the currency for converted amounts real time as they view or report on records.

When multicurrency is enabled, CurrencyISOCode is automatically defined for all objects that have currency fields. So, the amount fields can be displayed with the ISO code followed by a space and the actual amount. For example, $10.50 is displayed as USD 10.50, if the CurrencyISOCode is USD.
