Protect Page Break Document For Free

Word automatically determines where each page of a document should begin and end by inserting automatic page breaks. As you create and edit multipage documents, you might find that you need to manipulate the automatic page breaks.

This behavior can occur when you insert a Continuous section break into the same page in which you have inserted a footnote, and the section break appears after the footnote. The new page is created to prevent footnotes (or endnotes) from two different sections of the document from being displayed on the same page.

Click File > Info > Protect Document and select Restrict Editing. Your document then displays a Restrict Editing pane on the right-hand side of the document for formatting and editing restrictions. Here, you can give people permission to read your document, select what parts they can edit, and choose how they do it.

Adjust automatic page breaks On the Format menu, select Paragraph, and then select the Line and Page Breaks tab. Clear the Keep lines together, Keep with next, and Page break before check boxes.

Click Review > Protect > Restrict Editing. Under Editing restrictions, select Allow only this type of editing in the document, and make sure the list says No changes (Read only). Select Yes, Start Enforcing Protection.

A page break is an invisible marker that splits one page in Microsoft Word from the next. This formatting mark enables text to flow smoothly from one page to the next. Also, when you want to print the document, the printer uses the page break to know where the first page has ended and the second has begun.

Protect a document and mark the parts that can be changed. On the Review tab, in the Protect group, click Restrict Editing. In the Editing restrictions area, select the Allow only this type of editing in the document check box. In the list of editing restrictions, click No changes (Read only).
