In order to obtain a national permit in India, it is mandatory to submit Form 46 and Form 48 along with your application. Form 46 is the form of application for grant of authorisation for tourist permit or national permit. Form 48 is the application for the grant of national permit.

A Vehicle Permit is basically a certificate which allows your vehicle to travel from one place to another. In India, there are two types of vehicle permits, namely National Permit and Local Permit. The charges imposed by the respective authority for a diverse type of vehicles are also different.

The fee under the new rules has been kept at ?20,000 per annum for all India permit for vehicles with a capacity of up to five tourists. This goes upto ?3 lakh per annum for permit for vehicles with a capacity of 23 persons or more. A quarterly permit fee payment mechanism has also been kept under the new draft rules.

Permit Number means the number assigned by the Department to identify a specific out- door advertising permit. The permit number shall be the same as the application number.

Mumbai city news: For the permits, the cabbies will have to shell out Rs25,000 for cars with engine capacity of 1400 cc and those, who have cars with higher engine capacity, will have to pay Rs2. 61 lakh.

An application for grant of an All India Tourist Permit or renewal of an All India Tourist Permit for a tourist vehicle shall be made to the Transport Authority in Form 1 in electronic form on the portal.
