Double-click the header or footer area (near the top or bottom of the page) to open the Header & Footer tab. Select Link to Previous to turn off the link between the sections. Select Header or Footer and do one of the following: Choose Remove Header or Remove Footer near the bottom of the menu.

On the Layout tab, under Page Setup, click Header & Footer. Click Customize Header, and then click the section of the sheet header in which the watermark appears. Select the watermark, and then press DELETE . Click OK, and then click OK to close the Page Setup dialog box.

Double click the header or footer area to make it active. This also activates the Header & Footer Tools section on Word's Ribbon. On the Design tab of that section, select the Different First Page check box. This action removes the header and footer from the first page.

Click the worksheets where you want to remove page numbers. Go to the Page Layout tab. Click on the Dialog Box Launcher Button image in the Page Setup group. Click the Header/Footer tab. Go to the Header or Footer drop-down box and select (none).

Go to Insert > Header & Footer. SelectOptions on the right side, and then select Different First Page. Select Options again, and then select Remove Page Numbers. To see your page numbers and confirm deletion of the number from the first page, go to View > Reading View.

Click on the Layout tab. Select Breaks 2192 Sections Breaks 2192 Next Page. Put the cursor on the page where the page numbering should start (that is section two in the document). Click on the Insert tab and Page Number.

To have access to the hidden elements again, you have to return to normal screen view. To switch to full screen view, on the View tab, in the Workbook Views group, click Full Screen. To return to normal screen view, right-click anywhere in the worksheet, and then click Close Full Screen.
