If your checkbox is part of the bulleted list, you can remove it by highlighting the list and clicking the Home tab. Click the Bullet button in the Paragraph group and your checkboxes will disappear so you can make any corrections to the text.

A protected document cannot be edited. To remove the protection, click the Stop Protection button at the bottom of the right pane. The page then can be freely edited.To insert a check box for a printout, click the Insert tab. Click the arrow for the Symbol button in the Symbols group.

Just position your cursor in the document where you want a check box, switch to the Developer tab, and then click the Check Box Content Control button. You should see a check box appear wherever you placed your cursor.

Right-click on the axis whose tick marks you want to change. Choose Format Axis from the Context menu. Make sure the Scale tab is selected. Change the value to the right of Major Unit to indicate the multiple at which the major tick marks should appear.

Place your cursor at the spot where you want to insert the symbol. Go to Insert > Symbol. Select a checkmark symbol to insert or do the following. Select More Symbols. Scroll up or down to find the checkmark you want to insert. Double-click the symbol to insert it into your document. Select Close.

With that loaded up all you have to do is go the place on the form where you want to add a tick, tap and hold that spot until you see a menu appear. Then select the tick icon and one will be placed in the box. If it's not quite right, tap the and hold the tick until you see a large circle appear around it.
