The LSAT (Law School Admission Test) is a mandatory exam required to get into most US law schools, but sitting for the LSAT is not enough.You can score anywhere between 120 and 180 on the LSAT. The average LSAT score is 150, enough to get you into most American Bar Association-accredited law schools.

146-153: To give you an idea of how key this range is, a 146 is about 30th percentile, while a 153 is 56th. A quarter of all the people who show up to the LSAT on test day fall in this belt. If your initial score is in this range, without any tutoring or other instruction, you're off to a great start.

If you took the LSAT: Beginning the day after the test, you may cancel your score on the LSAT Status page of your LSAC.org account. This option will only be available to you within six calendar days after the test. The deadline to cancel your score online will be p.m. (ET) on the sixth day after your LSAT date.

Once you cancel, you cancel: indecision will only hurt you here. And finally, a canceled test still counts towards your 3-tests-in-2-years limit allowed by the LSAC. You can't keep taking the test, hoping for an easy one and canceling if it's challenging!

You may withdraw your LSAT registration in the LSAT Status section of your LSAC.org account once the refund deadline has passed. You must complete your withdrawal by p.m. (ET) the night before the test.
