Relax, LSAC doesn't include a copy of the photo in your CAS report schools get to see. They just hang onto it in a warehouse somewhere for a few years in case a reason comes up to suspect an imposter took the test for you and they want to double check things. Although schools no longer average LSAT scores, a drop could look bad. In general, however, canceling your score will not look suspicious. Adcoms don't really care about a single cancellation, even if it's after a recorded LSAT score.

In general, it's better to submit an application early. Most schools process applications on a rolling basis, so if you submit earlier when more seats (and more financial aid) is available, you may have a better chance of admission. In most cases, you should aim to submit your application before Christmas.
