Lease Hide Text Box For Free

Open the Excel spreadsheet containing the text box. Find the text box and click the outer edge to select it. When selected, there are small circles on each corner and in the middle of each side of the text box. Press the Del or Backspace on the keyboard to remove the text box from the spreadsheet.

Place your text box, as normal. Right-click on the text box. Choose Format Text Box from the Context menu. Make sure the Colors and Lines tab is selected. Click the Semitransparent check box if you want a "ghost image" of what is behind the text box to show through.

If you want to hide the overflow text in a cell, such as A1 in this example, without having to type anything into the adjacent cells, right-click on the cell and select Format Cells from the popup menu. On the Format Cells dialog box, click the Alignment tab. Select Fill from the Horizontal drop-down list.

The advanced options of the Excel Options dialog box. Make sure the Show Picture Placeholders check box is cleared. Make sure the Show Drawings and Text Boxes on Screen check box is selected. Click on OK.

Use display: none. Use visibility: hidden. Use opacity: 0. Position it off the screen using position: absolute and an insanely big value like left: -9999px.

Right-click the text box that you want to make invisible. On the shortcut menu, click Format Text Box. On the Colors and Lines tab, in the Fill section, click the arrow next to Color, and then click No Color. On the Colors and Lines tab, in the Line section, click the arrow next to Color, and then click No Color.

Select the hidden text and use Ctrl+Shift+H or the Font > Hidden setting to unhide the text. If you've got a lot of hidden text to unhide, or you don't want to search the whole document for hidden text, no problem.
