Journal Replace Page Numbers For Free

When asked to write any kind of document in the APA style, page numbers are required when citing direct quotes in the text and encouraged when citing a paraphrase in the text. Page numbers are required for entries for book chapters, articles, etc. in the references at the end of the paper.

Use the author or author's surname(s), the date of publication, paragraph number. If no author is given, use the title of the document or headings. Do not include initials or full names of the author or author's first name(s)

To choose a format or to control the starting number, on the Header & Footer tab, click Page Number > Format Page Numbers. Word displays the Format Page Numbers dialog box. If you want to change the numbering style, select a different style in the Number format list.

In a normal magazines, page numbers restart counting from 1 at every issue. Most academic journals, however, count continuously, perhaps per year or per quarter, leading to articles covering pages 1319913255 or similar folly.

Go to Insert > Header or Footer > Edit Header or Edit Footer. Select Different First Page. In the header or footer area, you should see a label on the first page that says First Page Header. Select Close Header and Footer or press Esc to exit.

If there are no page numbers given: Indicate the paragraph number instead of the page number with the word "para." before it.If there are headings, give the name of the heading, followed by the word "section" and the number of the paragraph within the section it is from.
