Under the control panel click the Grade Center bar on the menu and then select Full Grade Center. Once inside the Grade Center, click Create Column on the Action Bar. On the Create Grade Column page, enter the Column Name and optional Description.

To enter a comment:Comment: Type your comment in the textbox provided.Click on the Spell Check button (the icon with abc and a green checkmark) to check for spelling and grammar issues.When finished, click the Add button to publish the comment. A journal within a Blackboard course is a collection of individual student postings, which may only be viewed by the student and the instructor.An instructor can choose to create group journals, but the entries will still remain private between teacher and student.

Journals are by default private between you and your students. Entries are in chronological order and the instructor can add comments to any entry. Instructors have used journals to collaborate with students on portions of their written work. If appropriate, you can make student journals visible to other students.

Select the plus sign above the course menu. The Add Menu Item menu appears. Select Tool Link and type a Name for the link. From the Type list, select Journals. Select the Available to Users check box. Select Submit.
