Press Alt+F9. This makes all the field codes in your document visible, instead of the results of those fields. Press Ctrl+H. In the Find What box, enter ^d as what you are searching for (make sure you use a lowercase d). Make sure the Replace With box is empty. Click on Replace All.

In the Navigation Pane, right-click the table, and then click Design View. In the table design grid, select the field that you want to delete, and then press DEL. Close and save the table.

Go to the Lists menu and select Item List. Double-click any item on the list to open and edit it. Select Custom Fields. Name your custom field in the Label column. In the Use column, select the checkbox to turn on the custom field. Select OK to save the custom field.

Click the profile icon and go to the System Settings page. Select Objects and Fields. Select the object you'll be deleting fields from (Contacts, Organizations, Opportunities, or Projects). Select Object Fields from the Object Management menu. Click the three dot menu next to the field you'd like to delete.

Go to the Gear icon on the top menu. Choose Custom form styles under Your Company. Tick Edit on the form template you want to change. Tap Content. Select the Header part in the sample form. Under Display, click the Custom field link. Remove the checkmark on it. Press Done.

You can also delete fields with the Delete Field tool. In ArcMap, right-click the shapefile layer in the table of contents and click Open Attribute Table. Right-click the field heading in the table and click Delete Field. Click Yes in the warning window.

From the management settings for the field's object, go to Fields. Click Del next to the name of the field. When prompted, select the Yes, I want to delete the custom field checkbox to confirm, and click Delete.
