To fit the text frame to the content, select the frame using the Selection tool, and choose Object > Fitting > Fit Frame to Content. The bottom of the text frame fits the contents of the text.To resize using the Scale tool , drag to resize the frame. (See Scale type.)

Both OPTIONS are found in the same dialog box. Select the text. Select the Home tab. Click the launcher in the bottom-right of the Font group. In the Font dialog select the Advanced tab. Fit text in a shape Right-click the shape that contains the text that does not fit. On the shortcut menu, click Format AutoShape. In the Format AutoShape dialog, click the Text Box tab. Under Text autofitting, select the option you want.

You can use WordArt with a Transform text effect to curve or bend text around a shape. If you want the text to circle the shape, you can also do this, but it's a little bit more work.
