Establish Table Log For Free

All databases have logs associated with them. These logs keep records of database changes. If a database needs to be restored to a point beyond the last full, offline backup, logs are required to roll the data forward to the point of failure. Two types of database logging are supported: circular and archive.

In Object Explorer, expand the instance of SQL Server, expand Management, right-click SQL Server Logs, and then click Configure. In the Configure SQL Server Error Logs dialog box, choose from the following options. Check to limit the number of error logs created before they are recycled.

Log table (logarithm table) is used in performing bigger calculations (of multiplication, division, squares, and roots) without using a calculator. The logarithm of a number to a given base is the exponent by which that base should be raised to give the original number.

The table consist of 8 columns and 1 constraint. The LogID column is the unique IDENTITY column and will automatically be populated each time a record is inserted into the table. The remaining 7 columns will capture details of each database object modification being logged.

Log Table. One method to implement separation of ?draft? and ?committed? data is to add a log table to the database. This table will store a list of references to data that has not been committed. For example, new orders created in a database will be referenced in the dedicated DraftOrderLog table.
