If you want to leave, send your landlord a notice of non-renewal of the lease. The TAL has a sample notice. If the lease does not have a set length, the tenant must give a written notice one to two months before leaving.

A Lease Amendment is used to modify an existing Lease Agreement between a tenant and landlord by adding or removing clauses, or changing existing clauses. An amendment allows the parties to change the terms without having to sign a new Lease Agreement.
