On or before that date, you will be sent an email with your drawing results. If you didn't list an email in your application, you can check your results online or by calling 800-221-0659, or contacting us after the result date.

Texas Drawn Hunts are lotteries for the opportunity to hunt managed lands, that are otherwise closed off to hunters. You can hunt just about every species that is hunt-able in Texas, and you can hunt every region and type of terrain that Texas has to offer.

If you are not selected initially and a secondary drawing is scheduled your application status will read Not Selected ? Pending Second Draw. If you are selected for a permit during the secondary draw, a selection notice will be emailed to you and a new permit fee due date will be set.

Texas draw hunts are just like draw hunts for other states. You apply for hunts and if you are lucky you get drawn. You build points every year you do not draw. Every year after your odds should go up as you now have more points.

Who can apply? There are no residency restrictions; Texas, U.S. residents and non-residents can apply. What are the age requirements? Youth applicants for Special Permit hunts must be between 8 and 16 years old.

OSR involves self-registration upon arrival and departure from a public hunting area. The OSR requirement is in addition to any other permit which may be needed for hunting or access and provides useful information that helps TPWD improve the public hunting and access experience.
