Some of the more popular areas in the B1 zone are Hull Mountain, Sanhedrin Mountain, Anthony Peak, Etsel Ridge and Grizzly Flat. Of these areas, Hull is by far the most popular. It's not unusual to see the area crawling with hunters on the opening weekend, but within a week, the hunting pressure drops off considerably.

Preference points increase the chances of drawing a combination license and essentially move you ahead in line. 75% of all combination licenses awarded during the drawing will be issued to hunters with preference points. The remaining 25% are then allocated to those who have not purchased points.

Hunters electing Deer B license/permit opportunities will have the option to purchase two through the Surplus List. For Elk and Elk B licenses a hunter may hold a maximum of three each year.

Moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat tags are part of a weighted point system in which you may accumulate up to three preference points, after which you are awarded a weighted point each year until you draw. Applicants are assigned a random number which is then divided by the number of weighted points.

Some B licenses also allow the hunter to hunt in multiple units. So be sure to read the requirements. Antelope ?B? licenses are valid for nonresidents only and are exclusively for harvesting does or fawns.

Deer B ? Drawing Details: The B License is an antlerless deer license valid during a specific time period and in a particular hunting district or group of districts. Applicants are required to pay full license fee. Cost includes $5 nonrefundable application fee.

Here's how it works: Each year that you apply in the limited drawing but are unsuccessful in drawing a first-choice license, you earn one preference-point for that species. You continue to earn one point each year that you apply but are unsuccessful (pretty simple, right?).
