The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a codification (arrangement of) the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government.

All 50 states have legislatures made up of elected representatives, who consider matters brought forth by the governor or introduced by its members to create legislation that becomes law. The legislature also approves a state's budget and initiates tax legislation and articles of impeachment.

To find public laws passed from 1951 to the present, you can use Congress.gov or GovInfo. On GovInfo, navigate to the category Bills and Statutes and then select either Statutes at Large (1951 to present) or Public and Private Laws (1995 to present).
