Footnotes appear at the bottom of the page and endnotes come at the end of the document. A number or symbol on the footnote or endnote matches up with a reference mark in the document. If you don't include a bibliography, you must give a full citation for the first footnote from each work and abbreviated footnotes for subsequent citations.
