To remove Bates numbers from a PDF file: On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Marks group, click the arrow next to Bates Number and click Remove Bates Numbering. Click OK at the confirmation prompt, and the tool will scan the document and remove all instances of Bates numbering.

Using Acrobat DC Pro, you can automatically apply Bates numbering as a header or footer to any document or to documents in a PDF Portfolio (If the PDF Portfolio contains non-PDF files, Acrobat converts the files to PDF and add Bates numbering). You can add custom prefixes and suffixes, as well as a date stamp.

Change the name or category for a custom stamp Open the Stamps Palette by doing one of the following: Choose Tools > Stamp > Stamps Palette.Choose the stamp category, right-click the stamp, and choose Edit. Edit the category or name of the stamp, or replace the image, and then click OK.

Bates Numbering (or Bates Stamping) assigns unique identifiers to each page in a collection of documents....Add Bates Numbers to a PDF. Open the file. Click Tools. Select Edit PDF. Choose More. Click Bates Numbering and Add. Select Output Options to customize the serial numbers. Click OK.

From the menu bar choose Edit > Headers, Footers, Page Numbers. From the sub-menu: Select Remove Page Header to remove a header or a page number at the top of the page. Select Remove Page Footer to remove a footer or a page number at the bottom of the page.

Just double-click the top or bottom of the page to open the Design tab, click the Header (or Footer) button and select the Remove option.
