Hold the piece of paper against the edge of the scissors and make your cuts along the straight line on the paper. Open the scissors all the way and cut the paper carefully so it doesn't move around. Once you make 1 cut, move the scissors deeper into the drawn line and make another cut.

With any steak cut, you should always slice against the grain, which means against the direction that the muscle fibers run. This is true of all different cuts of meats.

If you need your tear to be neat and precise, paint a line of water along the piece of paper where you want it to be torn. Let the water sit for a couple of minutes to sink into the fibers and then tear along the wet strip. The tear will follow the water-soaked line, almost like magic.
