Whatever you do, do not simply copy and paste these cover letter examples and pass them off as your own. The whole point of a cover letter is to convince an employer of your one-of-a-kind value.

You don't need to send a cover letter if the job application doesn't specifically request one. If a company wants your cover letter, they will ask for it. This way, you're still providing the information that's on your cover letter without sending it as a separate document.

Carefully review the job posting and research the company's website. List your contact information at the top of the document. Greet the reader and introduce yourself. Explain your skills and achievements relevant to the position. Remind them why you're best for the position.

Start with Dear and the name of the hiring manager (Dear Hiring Manager is a last resort.) Use the company's name throughout your cover letter to make it non-generic. Add achievements, accomplishments, experience, and skills relevant to the job.
