Whilst we currently don't ask for a credit card during sign up, verifying your age through a small credit card transaction is one way to confirm that you meet our age requirements in case your account was disabled after you have entered a birthday indicating you are not old enough to have a Google Account.

You can create a Google Account for your child under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and manage it using Family Link. With Google Accounts, children get access to Google products like Search, Chrome, and Gmail, and you can set up basic digital ground rules to supervise them.

When you're setting up a Google Account with a non-Google email, we'll send a verification code to the email address you used to create the account. If you don't verify your address, you won't be able to create a Google Account.

Turn off 2-Step Verification Open your Google Account. In the "Security" section, select 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in. Select Turn off. A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to turn off 2-Step Verification. Select Turn off.

But here's what Google support says: When you sign up for a Google Account, you may be asked to add your birthday. Knowing your birthday helps us use age-appropriate settings for your account. For example, minors may see a warning when we think they've found a site they may not want to see.

Ask us to restore your account Sign in to your Google Account on a browser, like Chrome. Select Request Review. Follow the instructions.

How to verify your Age ID Login to your account. Go to Settings (the gear icon located at the upper-right corner of the site. Select the Account Info tab. Underneath your birthday, click the button that says Verify My Age. A popup will appear and on your desktop computer, you will see a QR code.
