The age function returns the age at the time of timestamp (in completed years) of somebody born on date_of_birth. Can be an expression. The timestamp,or expression resolving to a timestamp, up to which to calculate the completed number of years. Date of birth of the person whose age is being calculated.

Based on certain cases, we may sometimes need to divide by 365.25 instead of 365. In this formula, the first part (TODAY()-B2) usually calculates the difference between the current date and the birth date. The second part of the formula helps divide the difference by 365 to get the number of years (i.e., age in years).

We can calculate the age of a person using their date of birth using these functions altogether: NOW(), DATEDIFF(), FROM_DAYS(), and DATE_FORMAT(). The formula to convert the date of birth into age is DATE_FORMAT(FROM_DAYS(DATEDIFF(NOW(),'DATE_OF_BIRTH')), '%Y').

This function returns a value corresponding to a timestamp of the last millisecond of the last day of the year containing date. The default output format will be the DateFormat set in the script. In other words, the yearend() function determines which year the date falls into.

The AGE function returns a numeric value that represents the number of full years, full months, and full days between the current timestamp and the argument. The schema is SYSIBM. If there is less than a full day between the current timestamp and expression, the result is zero.

In PostgreSQL, the AGE() function accepts two dates/timestamps and calculates the number of years, months, and days. The AGE() function takes two timestamps as arguments, subtracts the second timestamp from the first one, and retrieves the resultant interval.

The addyears() function adds or subtracts a defined number of years, n, from a startdate. It then returns the resulting date. The start date as a time stamp, for example '2012-10-12'. Number of years as a positive or negative integer.
