Change Initials Document For Free

Click the Insert tab. Click the Header button on the ribbon. Choose the first option, Blank. Word inserts a blank header showing Type text at the top of the document. Double-click the Type text wording and type your initials.

Click the "Review" tab. Click the "Track Changes" button. Choose "Change User Name." Click into the "Initials" text box under the "Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office" section. Type your initials.

In an opened Word document, click File > Options. In the Word Options window, make sure you are locating in the General tab, change the name in the User name box as below screenshot shown, and finally click the OK button. Now you have changed the default user name for comments in Word document.

The initials should be in ink and written by your hand. They can be in either print or cursive but should be unique to you. If adding your initials to a small change in a contract, be sure to add them in the margin next to the updated information.

Click on Word > Preference > User Information, use the desired name and check the box right below the name that says "Always use the name regardless of how I'm signed in Office" and that should work.
