A shared dataset is a data model which is reused, or shared, across many different reports. The related reports can reside in various workspaces within the Power BI Service. This new ability to span workspaces provides additional flexibility we have not previously had.

Certified datasets make it easier for organizations to steer users toward trusted and authoritative datasets. This "stamp of approval" for a dataset can only be applied by a specific group of Power BI users as defined in a new tenant setting.

Endorse a Dataset as Certified In the workspace, click on the ellipse menu on the dataset and select Settings. The last option in settings is Endorsement, expand this to see the options. Click on Certified and click apply.

If you're certifying a dataset, make sure the dataset has an informative description. The description is important; it's what users see in the dataset info tooltip in the datasets hub and on the dataset's details page. A description helps users quickly identify datasets that might be useful for them.

Promote contentGo to the settings of the content you want to promote.Expand the endorsement section and select Promoted. Sign in to Power Apps or Power Automate. In the navigation pane, select Data > Custom connectors. Select New custom connector, then choose Create from blank. Enter a name for the custom connector, then select Continue.

A custom connector is a wrapper around a REST API (Logic Apps also supports SOAP APIs) that allows Logic Apps, Power Automate, or Power Apps to communicate with that REST or SOAP API. These APIs can be: Public (visible on the public internet) such as Spotify, Slack, Rackspace, or an API you manage.
