Kanye West's production skills have created career-defining success for other artists that he has collaborated with, from Common to Jay-Z, Pusha T to John Legend. Since his work on The Blueprint, Kanye has produced over 200 songs for other artists, including eleven Top 10 singles and multiple #1 albums.

Kanye West produced five out of 13 songs on Jay Z's 'The Blueprint'. Before switching to being a rapper, Kanye's influence was being felt in studios across America thanks to his production skills and there is no finer example than his work on Jay Z's seminal album.

The blueprint process was characterized by white lines on a blue background, a negative of the original. The process was not able to reproduce color or shades of grey. The process is now obsolete. It was first largely displaced by the diazo whiteprint process, and later by large-format xerographic photocopiers.

West produced four of the thirteen tracks on the album, including the songs "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)" and the controversial "Takeover", which included diss lyrics aimed at rappers Nas and Prodigy, while Just Blaze produced three tracks, "Girls, Girls, Girls", "Song Cry", and "U Don't Know", also including the hidden bonus

John Herschel, son of astronomer William Herschel, invented blueprinting in 1842. He too was a great astronomer. He was a mathematician, chemist, and inventor as well. Herschel was the first Englishman to take up photography.

Background. The Blueprint was reportedly cut in two weeks, with Jay-Z recording nine songs in two days. At the time, he was awaiting two criminal trials for gun possession and assault.
