Block Out Line Transcript For Free

To comment out a single line of code in Python, use the hash symbol (#) at the beginning of the line. The interpreter will ignore everything after the hash symbol on that line.

You can use triple quotes to create a multiline string that effectively comments out multiple lines of Python code. By enclosing the code within triple quotes, Python treats it as a string and ignores it during execution.

The leading characters // are added to the beginning of each line when commenting one or more lines of code. You can also block comment multiple lines of code using the characters /* */ .

The keyboard shortcut to comment multiple in Windows is shift + alt + A . In my case, Ubuntu, the shortcut is ctrl + shift + A . You can see all available keybindings on the official documentation. You will need to select the lines you want to comment first, then execute above shortcut, i.e. ?/ on osx Ctrl/ on Windows.

In Shell or Bash shell, we can comment on multiple lines using << and name of comment. we start a comment block with << and name anything to the block and wherever we want to stop the comment, we will simply type the name of the comment.
