Block Out Header Text For Free

Click the Page Layout tab at the top of the window, then click the small Page Setup button at the bottom-right corner of the Page Setup section of the ribbon. Click inside the Top field in the Margins section and enter a lower number. You can also adjust the size of the Header section by changing the top margin.

Change the color or image of the headerGo to the Design tab.Click Customize to expand the set of choices for customizing your theme.Click Header Image to choose an image to be the background of the header.Click Header background to choose a color for the header section.

Double-click inside the header (or footer) to open it in edit mode. Select the text you want to hide; in this case, select the word Confidential. Right-click the selected text and choose Font from the resulting submenu. In the Effects section of the resulting dialog, check Hidden, and then click OK.

Apply a formatting style that is not a heading level. Using the mouse, drag the body text indicator (the small plus sign to the left of the heading) to the right. Drag it far enough that you pass through all nine heading levels, which is necessary before the paragraph is changed to body text.
