Quick-step procedureClick the Settlement Rule button in the menu.Click in the Cat (Category) field and choose WBS element in the Maintain Settlement Rule: Overview screen.Enter the relevant project WBS element in the Settlement Receiver field.Click Back to return to the Change WBS Element: Basic Data screen.

Settling a maintenance order means that all the actual costs incurred during order confirmation are sent to a settlement receiver. This settlement receiver is generally the cost center of the reference object (displayed in the header data). It can also be a specifically designated general ledger account.

Settlement Rule is used to distribute the cost lying on the projects & WBS / network activity to the respective recievers such as GL account, Profit center etc. Usually the settlement profile is assigned to the project profile in customising(SPRO), and it comes into the WBS / Network when we create projects.

You use a settlement rule to define how the costs of a maintenance task are to be distributed and settled. One or more distribution rules are assigned to each settlement sender. You have to specify the correct settlement rule so that the costs resulting from maintenance tasks can be settled correctly.
