Attach Currency Form For Free

In Excel, you can format numbers in cells for things like currency, percentages, decimals, dates, phone numbers, or social security numbers. Select a cell or a cell range.

In the Format sidebar, click the Cell tab, then click the Data Format pop-up menu and choose Currency. USD is the international currency code established by the ISO to represent the American dollar. It is composed of the country code ( US ), followed by the letter "D" for "dollar." Write the dollar figure first, followed by a non-breaking space and the code: 350 000 USD.

When writing about other currencies, the name of the currency should be in lowercase. For US dollars, the symbol '$' is sufficient abbreviation, unless there is a mixture of dollar currencies in the text. For other dollar currencies, '$' should be prefixed with the country abbreviation.

The Currency format aligns the dollar signs at the left edge of the number rather than the cell, and there is no extra space between the value and the right edge of the cell. Negative numbers are not displayed in parentheses, but they have a negative symbol, and zero values are displayed with an actual zero.

Access opens the table in Datasheet view. Select the field (the column) that you want to change. On the Fields tab, in the Properties group, click the arrow in the drop-down list next to Data Type, and then select a data type. Save your changes.
