Click on the first page of your document and then click Insert Menu -> Page Numbers to display the Page Numbers dialog box. Select the positioning for your page numbers. Uncheck 'Show number on first page'.

Select the "Insert" tab on the Microsoft Word ribbon and click "Page Number," which is located in the "Header and Footer" group. Select the position where you want the page numbers displayed by rolling your cursor over that option. Select the page-number design from the gallery of options available.

On the Insert tab, select the Page Number icon, and then click Remove Page Numbers. If the Remove Page Numbers button isn't available, double-click in the header or footer, select the page number, and press Delete.

At the top of the page, before the first line/word, click on the document to place your curser. Then choose Page Layout from the top menu. Next select Breaks - Next Page. Now choose Insert from the top menu and then select Page Numbers and then choose how you want them to appear in the document.

Instead of the automatically added page numbers, click Ctrl+F9 to add the special brackets: Enter IF and then again click Ctrl+9 to add PAGE field to get the current page number: Enter <> (not equal) and then number of the page in quotes that you want to hide, in this example, "7" :

Click "Page Number" on the "Insert" tab in the "Header and Footer" group, and select the page numbers you want. Word will begin numbering pages again, still counting the pages on which you omitted the numbers. Repeat the process as necessary.

Go to the Header or Footer of the Second Section and click on the Link to Previous button in the Navigation section of the Header & Footer Tools>Design tab of the ribbon and then click on the Previous Section button to move to the header or footer as the case maybe of the First Section of your document and then select
